
The delegation included a member of the Shura Council of the Democratic Islamic Society Conference, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Qadri, the co-chair of the Interfaith and Forum Thana'a Far'o, a member of the Interfaith Forum office and the head of the Christian Religion Department at the Faculty of Religious Sciences Hanna Somi, and the co-chair of the Democratic Islamic Society Conference Sheikh Mohammed Malla Rashid Kharzani, and the vice presidency of the Conference of the Democratic Islamic Society, Abd al-Rahman Badrakhan, and the public relations official in the Office of the Interfaith Forum, Mohammed al-Sheikh, and Abeer Ali of the Muslim Women Foundation.
Hanna Somi, a member of the Interfaith Office and Head of the Christian Religion Department at the Faculty of Religious Sciences, expressed his happiness with the opening of an office for the Ezdina Organization, especially that Ezdina is concerned with brotherhood and peace among all components, nationalities and religions in the region in order to achieve social cohesion.
Somi indicated that religious minorities in the region, such as Christians and Yazidis, are in dire need of such institutions, because these minorities have been subjected to injustice throughout history, as genocide and massacres have been practiced against them.
He added that the idea of the Interfaith Forum, which was established in cooperation with clerics of all religions, has resulted in the establishment of dozens of academies, universities and other institutions that are concerned with a unified human and ethical community based on justice and humanity.
In turn, the co-chair of the Democratic Islamic Society Conference, Sheikh Mohammed Malla Rashid Kharzani, explained that the visit of the delegation of the Office of the Interfaith Forum to the office of Ezdina, comes in the context of creating brotherhood between religions and putting an end to all differences that have arisen between religions throughout history.
Kharzani added that homeland is being built by its people, regardless of their religious or ethnic background, to spread peace and justice among all components.
For her part, the coordinator of Ezdina, Liloz Mohammed, explained to the delegation the importance of the "Hope" project carried out by Ezdina and the activities included in the project, and the dialogue sessions that bring together all the people of the region, with the aim of shedding light on the Yazidi religion and removing false stereotypes about this religious component.
During the delegation's visit to the office of Ezdina Oganization, they held a meeting, via Skype, with the director of Ezdina, Ali Isso, in which they discussed the importance of opening an institution concerned with the Yazidi affairs in the region.
Hanna Somi, a member of the Interfaith Office and Head of the Christian Religion Department at the Faculty of Religious Sciences, expressed their happiness as Syriacs and Christians in general for the establishment of Ezdina, wishing freedom for those who remained in captivity.
Somi recalled what the Yazidi hero Hamo Sharro did in 1915, when he received twenty thousand Christian, Syriac, Armenian, Chaldean and Assyrian families, built a church for them, defended them against the Ottomans and presented more than 140 martyrs, pointing out that this position is recorded in the Vatican records.
Somi added that Christians remember with respect and reverence the position of the Yezidi ancestors with them.
In turn, Sheikh Mohammed Kharzani said that we must move away from the idea of "my presence eliminates you", because eliminating the presence of any party eliminates the existence of both parties, and the homeland is being built together.
Each public relations official in the Office of the Interfaith Forum, Mohammed al-Sheikh, a member of the Shura Council of the Democratic Islamic Society Conference, Sheikh Mohammed al-Qadri, the co-chair of the Forum of Religions and Beliefs Thana'a Far'o, and Abeer Ali from the Muslim Women Foundation, and the co-chair of the Democratic Islamic Society Conference, Abdul Rahman Badrakhan, Expressed their happiness and support for opening Ezdina Organization office in order to contribute to spreading brotherhood among the people of the region's components.
It is noteworthy that two representatives of the Interfaith Office in Qamishlo/Qamishli city, namely the Yazidi Sheikh Qanbar Jammo, and the researcher at the Academy of Democratic Islam, Sherin Kousa, visited the office of Ezdina, last Thursday, with the aim of getting acquainted with the "Hope" project launched by Ezdina.
