Dawoud explained in his message that "the Syrian society is a diverse society, including Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Assyrians, Yazidis, Armenians and others.These components must gain their national, cultural and linguistic rights, and to be recognized constitutionally."
Dawoud added, "This diversity in the Syrian society constitutes a factor of richness, impression and beauty in the Syrian case," he stated that it is the responsibility of human rights organizations defending human rights to work to preserve this diversity.
On Friday the 21st of August 2020, the Ezdina organization opened its headquarters in the city of Qamishlo/Qamishli, and launched the "Hope" project in the region. The project is an academic and professional work program aims to increase the community's awareness of the Yazidi identity, enhancing the closeness between the individuals of the religious and national components in North and East Syria, mainly by respecting diversity, accepting others and the rejection of hate speech and violence.
