Last Saturday, Ezdina Organization held a seminar entitled "I am a Yazidi, I invite you to get to know me", in the city of Raqqa, as part of a series of seminars and dialogue sessions held by the organization in northeastern Syria, with the aim of increasing the awareness of the local community of the Yazidi identity and promoting rapprochement between the religious and national components.
Al-Ahmad explained that they learned about the origin of the Yazidi religion, its areas of spread, the wars against this religion, and the persecution suffered by the people of this religion by "ISIS" and previous extremist organizations.
Al-Ahmad pointed out that their information on the Yazidi religion before the seminar was blurry and unclear, and he hoped that there will be other activities in this framework with regard to the Yazidi religion and other religions and ethnicities in the region.
It is worth mentioning that the seminar held by Ezdina Organization in Raqqa is the Fourth of its kind in the region, where about 80 people participated in the seminar, including representatives of organizations, initiatives, activists, media activists, members of civil society institutions, social figures and representatives of some human rights organizations in the city of Raqqa.
Ezdina organization has held three seminars to introduce Yazidis previously under the title "I am a Yazidi, I invite you to get to know me"; two were via the "Zoom" program, on the 8th and 19th of September, and the third one was in the city of Hasakah on the 30th of September.
